Deborah Broos is a research and teaching assistant at the Department of Communication Studies of the University of Antwerp (B). She obtained an MA in Communication Studies, an MA in Business Management and a diploma in Social and Cultural Anthropology, all at the University of Leuven (B). Since February 2007 she is a member of the research group Media, Policy & Culture working on a PhD project that focuses on the representation of minorities in Flemish media
