Hans De Canck (SMIT)
Hans De Canck holds a Master Degree in Modern History (K.U.Leuven) and studied Library Science at the University of Amsterdam. He followed several Post Academic courses on ICT and Project Management subjects. He started his career as Scientific Researcher in an Academic Library environment, but made a change to ICT soon afterwards. He worked for four years at ELiAS, a K.U.Leuven spin-off software company. After he developed the Customer Support Services and build up the Helpdesk team, he started to work as Product Development Manager for the LibriVision team (a Library search gateway application). In 2002 he worked at VCOB (Vlaams Centrum voor Openbare Bibliotheken), where he was ICT-project manager and team member of the Vlacc-II project (Flemish Central Catalogue). In 2005 Hans joined the SMIT-IBBT staff as project & research coordinator.
Started his career as Scientific Researcher in an Academic Library environment, but got infected by ICT soon after that. After a short stop at SIMAC nv (network engineering), he worked for 4 years at ELiAS nv (Extended Libary Access Solutions), a K.U.Leuven spin off company. After he developed the Customer Support Services and build up the Helpdesk team, he started to work as Product Development Manager for the LibriVision (a Library search gateway application)team. In 2002, after the failure of the company, he worked at VCOB (Vlaams Centrum voor Openbare Bibliotheken), where he was project manager and team member of the Vlacc-II project (Flemish Central Catalogue). From May 2005 on, Hans became member of the SMIT-IBBT staff, as project coordinator, in order to keep the constant in- and output of current and new research projects efficiently going.
He holds a Master Degree in Modern History (KULeuven) and studied Library Science at the University of Amsterdam. He followed several Post Academic courses on ICT and Project Management subjects.

Dit project heeft tot doel om voor de onafhankelijke filmsector een platform te creëren dat functioneert als een ‘virtuele coöperatieve’, die de realisatie van een onafhankelijke productie ondersteunt en waar de producenten terecht kunnen met wilde ideeën en concrete projectresultaten.

FLEET (Flemish e-publishing trends) is een interdisciplinair project, dat wordt gefinancierd door het IWT in het kader van het programma ter ondersteuning van Strategisch Basisonderzoek (SBO). Het onderzoeksconsortium bestaat uit junior en senior onderzoekers uit de sociaal-wetenschappelijke, juridische en economische departementen van de VUB, KULeuven, UGent en het Nederlandse onderzoeksbureau Infonomics/ECDC.
